The 77W have bigger cargo hold if I am not wrong. The demand for air cargo are strong. Hearing many backlog due to space constraints.

    • With Singapore government announcing a 14 day quarantine period for all incoming visitors into SG and a ban on travellers from high risk countries, does this ruling effect SQ's cabin crew as well ?

And cargo is currently the only sector in the air industry that actually has a positive demand amongst all this negativity, so any pax aircraft except the A380 could be making trips to haul cargo.

        They used the MRTT too.

Believed the 77W can carry heavier cargo loads , and even today right now SQ 802 to Beijing and SQ 830 to Shanghai are using the 77W

3K pilot friend was given exemption from quarantine, I would presume same applies to SQ/MI; perhaps a select group of them only.

Crew are exempted from quarantine or SHN. This doesn't stop them from being banned entry in buildings and businesses with restrictive access policies that don't recognise this exception.

I believe that the crews/pilots will also try to avoid going out. Esp when they have returned from those high risk areas n there are so many cases of imported cases recently.

                • Planes have began Long Term Parking at Terminal 5. Saw a few being towed there.

On the new taxiway, not visible from the highway. It’s on the northside of the airport.

                      • SQ has scheduled a few more cargo only flights to Shanghai. These flights will be operated by the 787-10.
SQ836|20MAR (SIN-PVG) cargo only flight operated by 9V-SCJ.

They are parked in a straight line on a taxiway roughly near the northern end of 02/20C going to the airshow site.

                          • SQ Cargo has 7 747F freighters and they are busy around the clock. As other posters have said, the lack of passenger flights means a huge amount of belly cargo is not being flown so SQ is using some of those passenger aircraft to fly cargo, sometimes with passenger (the few that travel) and even purely with cargo. This goes by demand obviously and decisions are made a few days at a time, also not surprising.

And yes, as MAN Flyer was sharing, there have been quite a number of A380 flights that had double digit passengers on them only with just one or two handful in premium cabins and everyone in Eco having a nice row to themselves. Believe it or not at your own discretion, but SQ would rejoice if they could fill an A380 at 50% load factor these days.

Seem like SQ are still deploying these A380 randomly. Fly one day park one day then fly again. Only SKS been out of action for some time. Plus SKN/SKP Which was out previously.

                              • Hopefully the SQ cabin crew do take extra precaution due to so many imported cases from London.
Even the SQ flights (SQ856/860) to HKG for the past week have seen many confirm cases as per reported in HKG Gov website
