upgrade or not

I've been following this forum for a while, this is the first time I posting a thread.

I'm flying from fra-sin in August in y on SQ325/326, but I'm thinking of paying for an upgrade oneway sin to fra from y to c. The question is: is it worth doing the upgrade?

SQ325 uses the new 77W plane..so it would definitely be an enjoyable experience.

As for whether it is worth the upgrade..I guess you were referring to return on investment. Then you have to put a value to the satisfaction you obtain from flyin SQ J class and subtract that from the cost of upgrade. If you get a positive expected return, go for the upgrade !!

THe SQ C-class on the 77W is certainly an experience not-to-be missed You'll get the (arguably) best C-seats that are available on the market at the moment. So from that perspective I would go for the upgrade!

However I suppose you are aware that an upgrade on SQ's new 77W will cost you twice as much miles as normally required. That means you're likely to spend close to 100'000miles on a one-way upgrade which is a lot

So it's disputable wheter the 12 hr experience is really worth the costs of several upgrades on shorter trips or not...

I would upgrade the SQ326 sector since its a day flight and you'll likely be awake for more of the time to enjoy it.
Also going from C-Y is a little tough for a trip. Y-C IMO would be better

Then the answer is easy! If you can afford it, go for it. If you can't, then don't. Only you can determine that. I mean, people are silly enough to pay cash for (say) SIN-KUL or ZRH-MAN (now no more) in F as well as the long haul routes so it all really depends on what you value more.

I agree with SQOZflyer about the opportunity of experiencing the best business class seats presently available. Being a 77W, the difference between Y and C is massive, and the gap between F and C is closing. If you have the spare cash, why not go for it because it will hopefully be a memorable experience for you. I'm sure I speak for all SQtalkers when I say that I'd like to know about your experiences with this flight, whether it be in C or Y.

The extra is slightly more than a return fra-sin in y, so it's not too bad...
As it's a day flight, I have more time to enjoy the new seat
I think I'll do the upgrade if the have enough seat available in c...

I think it also has to depend on which class does your Y ticket actually is? Some classes are not upgradeable, as I have enquired when I was about to do the same for HKG-SIN leg on SQ861. Also, you might have to upgrade on BOTH sectors, instead of just one.

I would upgrade it. It's worth it. But I would upgrade the flight from FRA to SIN because you are able to sleep a lot better than in Y. It's easier to "survive" in Y on a dayflight. SO I would go for SQ325.
