    • On SQ863 (a380) flight from Hk was delayed for 5 hours on 09/06 the delay was techical fault with flooring on 9V SKA A380. For some reason SQ routed passengers HKG to Mel via Qantas. Is this common? Since its not a Star Alliance partner

Then QF is an interline partner of SQ, which allows SQ to rebook its passengers onto QF during irregular operations. Passenger arrives at final destination sooner = passenger is less unhappy.

When I was bumped off an overbooked flight by MH, which is a OneWorld member, MH looked at alternative routings via ANA and SQ (Star Alliance) but I eventually only KE (Skyteam) had seats available for us. As Jumbojet Lover alludes to, you get rebooked on any airline that interlines with the original carrier during IRROPs. Alliance doesn't matter.

          • This morning's SQ211|30JUN (SIN-SYD) operated by 9V-SWQ apparently rejected take-off from RWY20C. Now at stand 203.

Most, if not all arrivals/departures are being routed to RWY20R.

Seems like 9V-SWW will be taking over and passengers ferried to gate B10.

              SQ211|30JUN
              STD: 0935
              ETD: 1230
              PETA: 2207

As I understand the curfew at SYD is in between 2300-0600. Hope they make it in time.

Also SQ308|30JUN (9V-SKS) is running 2.5 hours late today.

Oh, so that explains why SYD doesn't have a redeye flight arriving into SIN at 5 or 6AM and SQ211 that lands in SYD has to stay overnight and turn back the next morning and arrive in the afternoon as SQ212.

Not sure why it aborted take-off, but it was back in service by the next day operating SQ237 to MEL.

                    • 9V-SKR which was supposed to operate SQ321|07JUL (arriving SIN on 08JUL17) was AOG in LHR due to a hydraulic leak.

9V-SKL (SQ308|08JUL) turned around as SQ321D landing back in SIN at 1318LT today (09JUL17).

9V-SKR is back in service operating today's SQ321 with only a slight delay under 30 minutes.

                      --------------------------------

SQ25|07JUL (arriving SIN on 09JUL17) was delayed for close to 4 hours as a result of a late departure out of JFK.

                      STA: 0650
                      ATA: 1042

                      Operated by 9V-SKT.

                      • SQ322|10JUL (SIN-LHR) was delayed for close to 10 hours apparently "due to brake pedal transmitter fault".

It was initially re-timed to depart at 0145, before being re-timed to 0400, 0730 and finally 0800. The aircraft eventually departed at 0915 after being delayed further by weather and apron (ATC) congestion.

The aircraft that went tech was 9V-SKJ, which only recently returned to service 2 days ago after a long maintenance break.

9V-SKK (ex-SQ218) was the first available and suitable aircraft to take over.

It probably was interesting in the B1-B4 gate holdroom this morning with SQ308|11JUL at B2 and the delayed SQ322 at B4, scheduled to depart an hour of each other.

As a consequence of this delay, the return SQ317|11JUL is scheduled to arrive in SIN at 1300 tomorrow (12JUN17).

                        • SQ 807 18 July (PEK-SIN) - 9V SKB delayed apparently by some mechanical fault.

This is turn resulted to a late arrival into SIN ... thus delaying

SQ 231 19 July (SIN-SYD) - took off around 6 plus in the morning.

Is just me that feels SQ's 380s are problematic?

                          • SQ833 (PVG-SIN) was also delayed 18 Jul for close to 7 hours.

Weather and Chinese airspace congestion/restrictions had affected many flights departing PVG late afternoon yesterday, but SQ835 (scheduled to depart later than SQ833) left on time.

Anyone know if SQ833 went tech too?

You're not alone. Most of the delays we have been noting here are either A350s or A380s.

A380s also seem to be out of service for longer periods of maintenance compared with other planes. That alone can't be helping with the economy of operating them.

                              • It would be interesting to see global statistics (if these even exist) for the general reliability of Airbus vs Boeing aircraft, broken down into several subcategories. Nothing against Airbus and it could other factors but yeah.
