  • Stop-over in Amsterdam or Düsseldorf?

Hello, does anyone know why it isn't possible to stop-over in Amsterdam or Düsseldorf when flying from Copenhagen to Singapore? It seems like it is possible when using Google Flights but not on Singaporeair.com. Wanna fly the A350 you know.

    Singaporeair.com - https://www.singaporeair.com/booking...execution=e5s1

    Google Flights - https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...apore+airlines

Does the SIA website link work? The days I have chosen are 22 June from CPH and 22 July from SIN.

CPH-DUS is not served by LH and as far as I know, there are no plans for a codeshare with EW. SK fly the route, but that would mean they would be feeding you off the CPH flight rather than onto it, and I think their only flight is in the evening which doesn't even connect.

According to SQ's own flight schedules, you should be able to opt to fly via AMS, even on days that SQ351 flies. Codeshare flight SQ2623 is listed to depart CPH at 0815 on weekdays and connect in AMS for SQ323. Whether you can book it on all days is another matter and I think it may be a tad expensive an option. I think you would need to contact an SQ office rather than use the website.

Of course, by June next year, CPH might actually be flying the A359 itself, but it fell out of favour as a destination for the new craft some time ago- maybe due to the lack of competition on the route.

I tried all the other options in Denmark, Sweden and northern Germany and came up with nothing that routed via AMS. If you're really keen, you could take the evening SK flight to DUS the night before and I can give you the details of a small boutique hotel in DUS that can look after you for the night at a reasonable rate (I'm known there as "der australische Stammgast").

EW just announced a few weeks ago that they wil offer connections to SQ flights from all over Europe now. This is part of a new improved cooporation between LH and SQ groups.

But actually, when it comes to details, the so called improved cooperation between LH and SQ fails in simple details. Just had another weird example recently.

When EW recognises Star Alliance Gold status, then I'll consider it. Until then I'd be slugged with a huge bill for my extra luggage on their flights and barred from accessing the lounge.
