  • Two upgrades in the same day

Someone, somewhere was smiling down at me during the last 24hrs. Was scheduled on SQ305 (1st August) in economy on the return leg from a few days in the UK. As I arrived at the check in counter, the assistant printed the first boarding pass, I saw 96A Business. I was then informed that because of a plane change (it was SKM, with fewer economy and no premium economy seats) I had been upgraded on the first leg, but unfortunately no such luck on the onward flight to MEL (SQ217).

On arrival at SIN, I placed myself in the Gold lounge, as I became bored, I thought i'd monitor my currently KF mileage on the app. I immediately noticed on my next trip "seat 14A", despite my economy class boarding pass clearly stating 34A. I approached the desk and they informed me that the flight was overbooked, and I had been given an upgrade.

Luck was certainly on my side. In the three or four years I've been KFEG, I've only received one comp upgrade, and that was only for a MEL-SIN leg.

    A very pleasant flight indeed!

Someone in the scheduling department is being flogged as we speak for committing the cardinal sin of allowing this to happen.
