Tried once for J class flight from SIN T3 to HKG. It is quite convenient and fast if there are no check-in luggage and can proceed straight to immigration.

You will just need to scan the passport or insert FFP card or input the electronic ticket to check-in, including selecting seats.

Do note that at the entrance to the immigration counters, the officers will have to scan your ticket and checked the passport before allowing you in. This is in contrast to ticket printed at the check-in counter where they will just eye-ball and let you through.

Not much difference thereafter. One thing i don't really like is that the print quality tends to fade over time. May be a problem trying to claim retroactive miles on other Star FFP program where the original copy of the Boarding Pass may be required.

All positive except for the poor paper ticket quality. It's definitely a lot quicker than going to the counter and getting the agent to process your check-in. I do it all the time for my business travels as I do not check in bags at all and I'm pretty sure it takes less than 1 minute from the moment you place your passport down to when the ticket comes out
