Hello everyone! Does anyone know if the Changi Airport Terminal 4 will be "hub" for SQ?

T4 is supposed to be a 'budget terminal' of sorts. Although having said that, it will be the regional hub of CX when it opens. So looking forward to see what studioilse will create for the new SIN space!
I know when you airline bling, that could only mean one thing

Terminal 4 is a small terminal. Surely you're referring to Terminal 5?

Considering that SQ operates an all wide-body fleet, it is not possible for SQ to only use Terminal 4, which has only 4 gates capable of handling wide-body planes like A330.

But it is very possible for SQ and other Star Alliance airlines to all move into T5 when it opens mid 2020s

          Some details on T4 https://www.changiairportgroup.com/e...-T4-Update.pdf

SIA will be in the up coming T5. T4 would be Cathay, AirAsia, Korean and Vietnam Air.

The T4 of yesterdays will be much different than T4 of tomorrow. Seems like a lot of new technology and the new key difference is the central security check point but then this means the arrival and departure halls would be separated. Not too sure how this would impact us.

firstly not sure if T4 can handle too many "non-budget" wide body aircrafts as when the plans were out it stated that there are only 4 gates with aerobridges for widebody like the A330. For Cathay at its existing T1, at certain times there are up to 3 Cathay planes at one time. Hence even Scoot with its planned 20 aircrafts and existing 9 787s and Tiger's fleet is unable to use T4.
It does looks like T4 isn't well planned for the future as its capacity esp for wide body is already reached at certain times when it open.

Oh, haha, yes of course. Sorry for the confusion!
