    9V-SRP @ CBR (Gate 5)

Took this snapshot from CBR Airport Web Site - Webcam page. 9V-SRP parked at Gate 5 this morning.

I was watching the webcam, and saw 9V-SRP poshback and taxi to the runway for its departure to WLG. However, my the webcam just had to time out at the exact moment when SRP did its takeoff run and go past the terminal/webcam, so I didn't manage to see it go past on the webcam! Am kicking myself for that...

Anyway, SRP is on its way to Welly (WLG) now, ETA (according to FR24) is 15:17 local time.

I've just edited your link above so it will work upon clicking. It had two http sections which browsers don't like...

            Well done and welcome!

Greetings, the day before yesterday was a fantastic day for Wellington to be the new host to the FANTASTIC Singapore Airlines with Boeing 777-212(ER) 9V-SRP operating the inaugural service.

9V-SRP landed in some inclement overcast weather at Wellington, but PIC did a beautiful landing.

Please check out my video of the landing here:

and the Water salute here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9Z6cbNGQwE

Please stay tuned to my channel as over the next couple of days I will be uploading a "Slideshow" to my channel of the photos I got of it Taxiing, at Gate 23 for its special welcome, from the airport terminal, and at Gate 26. I will post a link to it on here.

When the aircraft parked at the terminal after landing it went to Gate 23 for a traditional New Zealand Welcome, however its permanent Gate will be 26 which it was moved to about an hour after landing.

I have started a Facebook page for the operations at Wellington Airport also, if you are interested please join we would love to have you.

Thanks very much and Thank you Singapore Airlines

                Best Regards

                    • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcoQx9MINwUThere ya go. Don't judge me..I stayed all day just to watch it take off. Sound in the video doesn't do it justice. It's like the engines shook Wellington! Had to get up to speed quickly on the short runway!

Of all the airports I've ever flown into/out of WLG is the most scenic by far.

Even if SQ291/2 are loss-making for a while, SQ are certainly generating a lot of publicity and excitement with these flights in one of their most important markets (AU/NZ), which is well overdue. They've not had this much attention since they launched the A380.

Daylight saving tonight so sometime over the summer I'll head out and catch a daylight full power takeoff! The trents literally shook the ground!

                              • Here is a link to my just uploaded slideshow, of Wednesdays inaugural service.

Here is a video (not mine) of Wednesday nights take off

                                https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcoQx9MINwU

With daylight savings starting tomorrow morning 2amNZST, the departure time moved to 2115NZDST, and the latest time the sunsets in Wellington over summer is 2057NZDST and that from between 29th December 2016 and 9th January 2017. This will be the best time for maximum light for viewing the take off.

                                Cheers to all!
