Self Upgrading Passengers

Very true. There is a "Regrade list" in the CM checking system that already allocated upgrades based on passenger Tier. I think it has changed recently tho. PPS members, Staff travel, KFGOLD, Star Gold is the new upgrading hierarchy.

May I ask in this hierarchy, does Velocity Gold = KF Gold or = Star Gold?

I came across such behaviour on my SIN-HKG flight this week. I was seated in Y and after the seat belt sign was turned off soon after take off, a lady and her friend headed towards PY and sat themselves down. A few minutes later they both went back to their Y seats after a crew member told them to do so. I was acutely aware as one of the ladies were seated on the same row as me in Y

Never actually met those self upgrading passengers but i did met a couple who wanted to seat on the two seaters, and even managed to argue with the cabin crew saying "i don't care". Still happened in the same cabin though. Yes it was self upgrade as well imo since it is a lot nicer to be seating in that two seaters than seating in the middle seats.
