  • SQ SIN-CTS seasonal direct flights

For the past 2 years, SQ has had seasonal direct flights from SIN-CTS for the winter season. In 2014, I recall there was quite a bit of press on it, but i heard nothing about it in 2015, although they had the same seasonal flights (although for a shorter period).

My son is hooked on skiing, and we are thinking of going back to Hokkaido in 2016 but bypassing Tokyo due to time constraints.

Does anyone know if SQ will continue to have these direct-to-CTS seasonal flights in 2016? Or where I can keep a look out for such news? in 2014, I believe the tickets only went on sale in August.

    Thanks!

SQ660/1 are currently flying to CTS using 772ER (non-refit) planes. Seems to be about 3 times per week but not consistent. If you do a schedule search on the webpage they should come up.

      Thanks!

yup.. i realised (too late?) that they had these flights for the 2015/6 season..hoping to book it for the 2016/7 season without having to stalk the SQ website.

My friend called up SQ to ask about such flights and she was told they do not advertise - we will just have to check the website starting from July 2016 onwards.

yup, that is usually the case as most of these tickets are actually sold via agents who package them with hotels + ski packages. Pure FIT bookings are likely to be low (and expensive).

          FIT = Fully independent traveller?

yup, i believe the tickets go for close to $1.8K, whereas if you booked a SIN-TOkyo flight on SQ, and add on domestic fare (less than $300 on offer for a round trip with ANA), it'd probably be only around $1k. Probably even cheaper if I flew ANA from Sin-Tokyo.

Update: SQ has released the SIN-CTS (SQ660/661) flights for Dec ' 16 - Jan ' 17 season, if anyone is interested

Peak period tickets cost about $1.8k, but if you're returning after the school term starts, it can be as low as $1.3k.

Scoot will begin serving CTS 3x a week year round beginning October. But the flights will be stopping over in Taipei both ways.

Yes, Scoot currently has fantastic promo fares @ $188 all-in per way in Economy or $288 all-in per way in ScootBiz.

The one-stop in Taipei, especially in the middle of the night on the way back, takes away TZ's advantage over other options, like AK/D7 combo via KUL.

yup i saw the scoot fares - very attractive! but the whole idea was to go non-stop,since our trip is so short (8N).

I wish the SIN-CTS flight wasn't departing at 0930 hrs though, since this means we have to stay overnight at the CTS Airport hotel.

If you want an overnight flight, you should consider the AK+D7 option via KUL. Honestly I don't see any difference in quality between D7 and TZ. I think catering on AirAsia is better.

I'd highly recommend the Crowne Plaza Chitose not too far away
