Did SQ reduce economy seat width on 777-300 ER after PE refurbishment?

Seatguru lists 18 inch width for the new 4-classe 777-300 ER (instead of the usual 19).

All other 777 and the A380 (refurbished or not) list the old 19 inch.
Is this a typo or did SQ really reduce the seat width? If yes, will this happen to more planes?

I can't see why they would as they haven't increased the number of seats across the plane, so they would just end up with wider aisles.

Seatguru used to be good, but now I think it is next to useless. They list layouts for SQ that haven't existed for years or have actually never existed. Most of the people commenting have little clue which variant they were even on and make comments that are misdirected to the wrong type of plane. I really question where their info is coming from.

I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here...

If you've flown a 77WN already, and have recently took a 77WR, they both have the exact same Economy Class seats. I can't see or understand how they would decrease the seat pitch.

Unless you flew a 77W (With old longhaul products), and recently flew a 77WR with the newer seats, that's a different story.

As far as seatguru goes, that seems to definitely be a typo. Be happy SQ is still retaining the 3-3-3 config for Economy on all 777s, otherwise it would be different in terms of pitch/space if they made it 10 abreast.

What is the best alternative to seatguru then (besides looking at each airline's website which is very time consuming)?
Seatexpert seems to have even less coverage than Seatguru.

Yeah, unfortunately if you want the real accurate info, you have to do the work. For sites like seatguru it's all about generating traffic for ad revenue and just like popular newspapers so often get facts wrong, so do these sites. I don't know if seatguru even employs anyone to check details. If it's all user input then as the volume of users increases, the specialist knowledge decreases.

This forum is fairly low traffic, frequented by some pretty sharp minds and very frequent travellers, hence our quality of info is better!

It might be because of the new 2013 Y product vs the old 2006 Y product on the A380 and 777. I'm pretty sure SQ did not reduce the seat width though, perhaps there was a typo on their side, or they use a different metric to determine the seat width.

Agreed My pet peeve with this site and just about every site claiming to be experts at seats is that they apply default coloring to certain seats.

1) Every last row seat is red. Because it MAY be non reclining - this as we all know, is not always the case

2) Every emex seat is "may get cold here" "reduced seatwidth cause armrest doesn't go up" "doesn't recline either" - which may or may not always be the case.

3) Every emex window seat on a widebody is "slide is here, your legs may get angled in an ugly fashion"

4) Every bulkhead seat is "may have more leg room" - it's only MAY because the so called experts actually haven't sat in it. Bulkhead seats vary wildly between Golf course size (example LAN's 763's row 12) to "i can't feel my knees" (CX's 33K row 39)

To me these sites just print seatmaps with default colors applied which may or may not bear a resemblance to reality (more often than not they're inaccurate)
