A350 Deliveries and Routes

The first A350s that fly to India will be with long haul configurations that fir into the gaps of long haul operations. They must leave SIN after 0730 and be back by 2200.Overnight they are needed to be on long hauls, therefore destinations that match this requirement will get them, not necessarily due to their suitability as the perfect aircraft for that destination.

Once the medium haul variants arrive, then it will be a different story, as their primary function will be to replace A330s coming off lease and the oldest 772s as they retire. As India is served by many A330s and SQ/SR-series 772s, that is when we are likely to see the A350s heading to India in significant numbers.

We might see the first A350 to India before the first regional A350 are delivered (for instance on the BLR route the longhaul configuration would fit better than the regional one). As soon as SQ starts to deploy the A350 on Australian routes their might be gaps making overnight flights to/from India operationally possible.
But anyway the first regional A350 will join the fleet in 2017 so we will see.

It was 9V-SMI which performed her First Flight on 2 December. 9V-SMJ rolled out onto the Flight Line on 2 December and will perform her First Flight in about 2 week's time.

SQ A350 Production Update.

9V-SMG performed her 1st CAF from the Delivery Centre on 1 December. She could be delivered at the end of this week or early the next week.

9V-SMH has performed 2 test flights and could be moved to the Delivery Centre this week for her CAF. Delivery could take place 1 week after 9V-SMG.

9V-SMI performed her First Flight on 2 December. Further test flights and CAF will follow. Delivery could take place just before Christmas.

9V-SMJ rolled out onto the Flight Line on 2 December. First Flight should take place in 2 week's time. Delivery will most likely be in early January 2017.

9V-SMK is in the Paint Hanger and should move to cabin & engine installation this month. Delivery will be in the first quarter of 2017.

9V-SML is undergoing Outdoor ground tests. It should enter the Paint Hanger soon.

9V-SMM is in Station 30 undergoing final assembly.

There should be 9 A350s in the SQ Fleet at the end of 2016.

9V-SMG has completed her 2nd CAF and is now displaying her final registration. Her Delivery Flight could be as early as this evening (SG Time).

As always, great shot. Next year, these A350's are gonna roll like hotcakes. Especially between now and the beginning of 2017, 4 A350's are getting delivered. Hopefully my mom will get to ride on one of the newest A350's next Sunday morning. If not, it's all good.
