  • The delivery flight may be taking place tonight. 9V-SMA just showed up on Flightradar24 as SQ8891. Still on the ground at TLS right now, but that could change.

      • Airbus has created a SQ A350 Delivery page.

          • So the fact that they're selling F tickets up until 8th May on AMS-SIN is a pretty good indicator that they won't introduce A350 before this date, right? Otherwise they'd have to downgrade F pax to J and reimburse them?

            • So.... Just wondering..
Does anyone know when SQ's first A350 will be landing in SIN? (Like runway and time and where would be a good place to catch it)
              Thanks in advance!

On the 3rd of March, during its delivery, 9V-SMA scheduled to park at B3, Terminal 3 (the Crowne Plaza gate) and preparations for its arrival will begin at 9 to 9:30AM. It is presumed it will land shortly after. Runaway 02L is all but confirmed.

I would take it to be a very good indicator, yes. They suspended sales in F quite a while back and although I can't remember the exact date (some time in March) the fact they have reopened F sales up until 8 May suggests they are very certain the flights will be 77W.

plus isn't it on the microsite that the A350 takes to AMS on 9 May only? So it will remain with the 77W till 8 May at least.

                        • Planned delivery flight for 9V-SMA into Singapore is SQ8895, departing Toulouse on 2 March, and arriving into Singapore at 1000LT on 3 March.

To reiterate, aircraft will be parking at Gate B5, Terminal 3, which means 99% chance of an 02L landing.

But what will happen if the wind is blowing on the other way than 02L?

Obviously the plane will land backwards, with reverse thrust. 😄
