  • SQ is supposedly launching a marketing campaign for PE on 21 May 2015, so we might see some promotions and discounts on PE rates.

              The 19 A380s (9V-SKA - 9V-SKT) to be fitted with PY will keep their current 2006 R, 2006 J and 2006 Y.

              The 19 777-300ERs (9V-SWA - 9V-SWT) to be fitted with PY will have the new 2013 F, 2013 J and 2013 Y seats.

              The 20 incoming A350s will have the 2013 J, 2015 PY and 2013 Y.

Looks like if you want to try new seats (besides PE), you have to take 777-300ER

                      • Had a look at a couple of fares and most pressure is on the SIN-SYD route as BA is offering a similar inexpensive PE fare:

                        SQ fares including tax:

                        SIN-HKG: 850 SGD (3200 miles = 27 Cents per mile)
                        SIN-SYD: 1250 SGD (8000 miles = 16 Cents per mile)
                        SIN-NRT: 1925 SGD (6600 miles = 29 Cents per mile)
                        SIN-FRA: 3200 SGD (13500 miles = 24 Cents per mile)

SIN-HKG might be too short for any premium like this.
SIN-SYD is the right distance and a great price.
SIN-NRT and SIN-FRA might be good for passengers where the company is paying and not allowing business. For leisure traveller like us, we should be able to fly in Business if not First for that money.

                        • Also, BA's counter upgrades from J to F on SIN-SYD (redemption or paid doesn't seem to matter) is another S$1,000 , one-way

SYD is indeed at an attractive price!

                              • Agree. The only route I would consider PY for the price is SYD. FRA for 3.2k is way too high. Around 2.5 - 2.7k maybe ignoring J options here.
