    Looks like this could have been better handled by Scoot.

    Interesting that the ST report also states that AirAsia, Tiger and Jetstar were also affected in some way, but none of their flights were delayed.

    Their problem is that they have 4 wide bodies all leaving at about the same time. Assuming their flights are 70% filled, it means at least 1,200 people arrived for check-in between 11pm to 1am. Moreover this airline operate with bare minimium staffing.

    I don't believe AirAsia have any flights for the day past midnight. Tigerair and JetStar have about 3 flights on the smaller A320 aircrafts. They cleared all their passengers fairly efficiently even if the boarding passes have to be written manually. Their flights generally departed on time.

      I see! No wonder there was so much chaos.

      Hopefully they put better contingency plans in place in case of future incidents...even for an LCC, this sort of glitch can't be good PR.

        When SQ has their system failures the chaos is even more! Now spread over 2 terminals.
