SFO-SIN via HKG or ICN; which do you prefer in F?

I think there are many trip reports that suggest the old F seat is nicer than new one, including the email I got from my dear old mum just a few days ago. She also didn't like the new serviceware...

Just looking at the routing I'd do SFO-HKG-SIN because it allows for more uninterrupted rest.

Then again you'd never know till you actually try it - why not do both, one config each way?

I've done both recently in F and, despite the late night departure time, I definitely prefer the 747 via HKG. The old first suite is good for both sitting and sleeping, whereas the new F seat on 77W is great for sleeping but not so good for sitting. In fact, I hadn't mastered the use of multiple pillows to support my lower back and ended the flight with mild pain.

I also prefer the more spacious F cabin of the 747 than the small and confining F cabin on the 77W.

However, the new IFE on the 77W has sudoku, which is a big plus for me.
