I honestly am not sure about SKQ and it seems possible, when it returns to service, maybe one of us will point out if it has 6 Suites instead of 12.

SWJ and SWK were initially 77WT (everything but only 4 First Class Seats) but were converted to a 77WR in August 2015. However, SWL was the first 77W to receive PEY.

SWT is on the ground and has no further assignment so far on iCargo so it may very well be for a maintenance + refit.

    • SWT, the last original 77W is most likely currently undergoing refit to a 77WR. Despite the false hope last week and that it did a MEL and a PVG round this time I already believe it for sure

SWI Is due to hatch soon, I think we're already in Week 9.

Soon, the designation between 77W and 77WR will come to a close as all 77W will be a 77WR, which means we can call the 77W a 77W again.

      • 9V-SKQ still sits in the hanger after more than 4 months - this is about the longest i've ever seen an A380 out of service? aside from when the earlier batch did their wing upgrades, etc. or repairs. anyone knows whats up?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the first A380 to go in for a retrofit but for 4 months is surprising. Whenever SKQ returns to revenue service, from that point, we'll know if the craft has 6 Suites or the original 12.

On the 77W end, SWT is on Week 2 and likely in for a retrofit for sure. However, SWI has been out since 10/28, when the Northern Winter Schedule has started, but has been out for 10 weeks, which is the longest for any original 77W to be out for a retrofit. The longest I believe a 77W has gone for a retrofit was actually 8 weeks. Maybe new Wifi upgrades? Hopefully it hatches soon, it could be any day now.

          • 2018 Final Fleet Numbers

            Happy New Year everyone!

Given that we just entered into 2019, is there a final tally of how the SQ and SilkAir fleet ended the year?

              • Happy New Year to all and thanks for the Fleet Updates FSJZ. Only two changes we know of on the 77W side are that 9V-SWI and 9V-SWT are the last two off for retrofitting. SWI is actually on Week 11, which I don't think any original 2006 77W retrofit has taken. Hopefully it will hatch this week. SWT on the other hand is on Week 3.

The A380's, 9V-SKQ and 9V-SKS are out too, but I can't say for sure if it's going to be a retrofit or not.

Please provide your definitive source for this statement. Or is this a further continuation of your senseless babble?

SKQ is doing SQ856... which is usually done by the new config A380s. Wonder if that confirms it’s the first to have been retrofitted to 6 suites after spending almost 5 months in the hanger.

I just checked ExpertFlyer on SQ861 and unfortunately, SKQ is not retrofitted. It still shows 12 seats instead of 6.

After the A/T, it was supposed to do SQ802/807 and I checked that it is a unrefitted aircraft. Sorry!

Did a dummy booking on today SQ861 and it is old config

                          • My guess is once the 77W refit is complete, then they could move on to the A380's for retrofitting. i am not clear from any sources when is SQ going to start, it was supposed to happen from late 2018.

SQ themselves are not doing the A380 refit.

You are correct! It is Airbus who is doing them.
