It would seem odd to remove SVG and have SVF as the lone space bed aircraft flying around. It turns 14 in April so not sure if that is of any significance?

Typically the leases are renewed at the option of the lessee (SQ) so I would think they need to give notice (and negotiate rates) only if they want to renew. The default is to return. We'll find out when the results are announced mid-May and they update the fleet details.

If your hypothesis is true, SQ will be left with only 23 A330s by end of the year. I see the B772s have already crept back into the HKG schedule.

Sold to NokScoot? I think Thai operators are not allowed to buy planes older than 14 years. Or maybe it is due for a an expensive D-check.

I was thinking NokScoot for SRL just before it gets to 14 years but at the results a few weeks ago it was stated that they would not take any new aircraft until the regulatory issues were sorted out so that they can fly to Japan and South Korea.

            • CHANGES

              - 9V-STL has left the fleet, reducing the number of A330-300s in the fleet to 27.
              - 9V-STG has returned to service after a long hiatus following its nose gear incident.
              - 9V-SWF is now flying in the air, hence is not being refitted with the new cabin as of yet.

              UPCOMING CHANGES

              - 9V-STN will be the next to leave the fleet, according to FleetIntel. It will be available for lease in MAY16.
              - 9V-SMB, SQ's second A359, is expected to be delivered in APR16.
              - 9V-SWQ seems to be the next in line for the PY refit, but is still flying currently. We will find out in the next few days.
              - There is some doubt whether 9V-SVG has been withdrawn from use, or is currently undergoing maintenance.
              - 9V-SKB and 9V-SKC are currently being fitted with PY and are expected to leave the hangar soon. This will increase the number of refitted A380-800s with upper deck economy to 11, i.e. all A380s with upper deck economy will have PY.

              • Admins, would y'all mind making this thread sticky? I will be updating this thread weekly as much as possible and when there have been changes to the fleet.

Something tells me SWR could be next to have PEY, because it has not been flying since Wednesday (48 hours), and they're simply just skipping SWQ, unless they're putting that in line for refits. We will have to wait a few more days (and weeks) to figure out if SWR is really on the ground undergoing refit for sure unless they take SWQ out (The pattern I've seen since SWM is usually at about the time the refit takes place, before the refit it flies SQ217/218) with the exception of SWO.

Finally the speculation is over! I checked it only about 15 hours ago so thank you for this update. To have fitted out SVG with all new J and then get less than 2 years' use out of it would have been tragic.

The 200ERs still have plenty of work to do as so many A330s are leaving and the first couple of A350s will have no impact in total numbers due to network expansions - DUS & CBR-WLG will count for a plane each approx. and there is still talk of more services to Australia (BNE, SYD) and potential new destinations. With SVG out, the fleet tally was a plane away from dropping to double digits.

                      • Does anyone know why one 772ER was out for so long? I'm hoping they've installed WiFi on the plane. It also doesn't make sense that SQ didn't go all out with refitting the 772s with WiFi and new entertainment systems, considering that they'll be sticking around for longer than some of the A330s.

                            • CHANGES

                              - 9V-SVG has returned to service. The total number of 777-200ERs in service is now 10.

                              - 9V-SKB and 9V-SKC are currently being fitted with PY and are expected to leave the hangar soon. This will increase the number of refitted A380-800s with upper deck economy to 11, i.e. all A380s with upper deck economy will have PY.

                              • STH also seems to have exited the fleet. It's lease was renewed in 2014 but maybe for only 2 years.
