    Dear sqtalkers

    i am flying off the taipei this sat with my partner

    i had booked a pair preferred seat 48H, 48K (A333)

    now when i do online check in, they had moved us from our original seat and we are being seperate one in the front and one at the back.

    i had my online confirmation with my assigned sit in my email and i had printed out.

    i just called sq and they say they will look into this matter.

    Any one of you guys had encountered this sitatuion before ??

    Please advice what will SQ do to my case ???

      Yes, mainly as a result of a plane change or a flight timing change (which somehow cancelled the old flight - don't know why they had to do that). They should refund you on the costs of the preferred seat. And if you want to push it they should also compensate you for the inconvenience. Am not a lawyer, but I wonder if there a contractual agreement that may have been breached here (but knowing lawyers, I'm quite certain that the fine print would allow SQ to change virtually anything without prior consent!).

        Yep - we're in the same boat - exactly the same thing. Curously the main website says one thing - 31C and 44B, mobile site and check my trip has it right 31B/C. I predict that either I or the cabin crew will end up sorting this out when we get on board. That's not fair to either party to have this dropped on us by SQ's poor management.

        Compensation is limited to refund of the $50 paid, which in this case won't apply because both seats are still 'preferred' - just not together.

          just called SQ up and shoot them with all my available vocab....lol

          the friendly operator asked me to hold on the line.....

          waited and waited.....20 mins gone.....

          finally she came back on the line say " we are so sorry on the issue facing by sir, i had contacted another department that handles on this issue and they had sorted out your seating arrangement for SIN-TPE. you will be getting back your original seat. For TPE-SIN sector, we had informed Taiwan SQ office on this matter and please give us a few days time to arrange for you, once Taiwan side has settled, they will give you a call, sir"

          ok, this is what sq replied me on phone. i asked her y there will be such issue. guess what, she said some times system has error.......

          she ends the conversation with, sir, do you have any flight meal preference ???........argh..........

          i was just thinking, the person that had checked in my sit, will he be informed last min that the sit has been change when he reach the airport ??
