  • 77W: Y 56J-K

    Hi guys,

I managed to book myself some seats SFO-SIN on the new 77W and I'm pretty excited about it. I noticed that 56J-K is a twosome seat... quite interested in it as I just adore aisle seats but my friend prefers the window. Are there any drawbacks in seating right at the back of the plane?

I also like to do a shoutout because this marks my first post on this forum although I have been lurking around for quite a while. I have enjoyed the pics from SQflyergirl, CGK's exploits on F class as well as in Y class... etc. totally hilarious. I am by no means a frequent flyer/SIA flyer but I do hope I get to enjoy F class one day.

In the meantime.. i'll just read the posts on this forum.

    Welcome to SQT uglymale.
I have never been in the "two-seater" on the 77W but have experienced it on the 772ER, they are great seats, you'll enjoy them. The only drawback I can think of is that you won't have much meal choice as you will be the last one to be asked what you would like and one or the other choice might have run out by the time they'll reach you.

Hello uglymale (???), I suppose you mean 56H and 56K instead? The only drawback I could think of is the proximity to the toilets and galley. I don't normally have a problem with these myself -- in fact, the closer I am to the galley, the better. Go figure.

By the way, I thought the FAs rotate the direction of serving between the two meals? So, if they start from the front during the first service, the second one will start from the back?

wahahaha... but then, the gallery would be behind my seat, not in front. cannot pretend to be asleep and peep inside.

i guess i'll be the first to board and the last to leave?

        ooh, yah, its 56H-K.

That has been my experience on the SIN-LHR flights.

          P.S. Welcome to SQTalk, uglymale.

            Welcome to SQTalk
I think on some occasions, they do start the meal service from the back.
There was some occasions I was sitting in the first few rows (in Y of course ), but, was served quite late.

Hint: Let your legs do the walking. And no, I'm not talking about foraging the galley for yumyum.

i think CGK does that flight quite frequently, SQ15, and it has a stopover in ICN.

i won't be flying so soon, but i'm booking 3 months in advance because i must make that flight. it seems to be filling up quite fast.

anybody know if its frequently full?

i originally wanted to fly on the A345 from LAX, but since the 77W launched i decided to try that instead. how's the experience on the A345 Y+ compared to the 77W?

                      It also operates SQ954/955 SIN-CGK-SIN.

is it true that the seats at the back are noisier and more susceptible to shakes and turbulence?

i really don't know.. so far on all my previous flights i've gotten bulkhead seats or got seated somewhere in the midsection of Y near the wings.

From my experience, yes...you do feely heavier shakes at the back of the aircraft.

Also, I would say that you can't beat the Y+ experience on A345. 77W Y experience is only just a Y experience. You will get much better pitch and width on Y+ on A345 - seating layout of 2 - 3 - 2 in Y+ also means less crowded. Also, you can seat in the Y+ mini cabin from row 31 - 33 in the mid section of the plane which won't shake as much and also feels kinda exclusive.

The only drawback for Y+ on A 345 seats is that you can't raise the arm rests of the seats if the seats next to you are empty. But then again, it is almost impossible to fly in a really empty SQ flights these days.

Hi, avoid 56AC and HK (on 77W) at all costs!!

Those are the worst limited recline seats (least preferred) SQ has in their fleet.
