That sounds like the old 777-200ER. Small and dim screen

It's time for SQ to upgrade!

Just arrived in Singapore on SQ365. It was 9V-SVL with classic interior. Seats were actually pretty decent (59H & K). AVOD worked well, but the screen is seriously low res and dim. Singapore service and food were impeccable. Overall, good flight.

Opinions on these craft often come down to which class you fly in. As a Y traveller, I'm actually quite happy with the 772ERs, yet I know whenever they are discussed, J travellers are very unimpressed with them because of the old 'space-beds' which I can well understand when you are paying so much more for the ticket.

Contrast the fact that until 6 months ago, the 747s were still on the SIN-FRA-JFK route. While there seemed to be some popular appeal among J travellers for them, the Y cabin was truly awful and so completely out of date. Now those screens truly were tiny!

Given the length of the flights, I would have hoped in this day and age, with an airline the quality of SQ (and the higher ticket prices), I wouldn't have to worry about having a tiny screen with questionable AVOD on a 12 hour trip. Short flights from SIN to BKK have a more more modern cabin.

Upcoming FCO to SIN - Retrofit 772?

Hi, all. I'm flying from Rome to SIN in a couple weeks. I was wondering if there's a way to know if the 722 on this route has been retrofitted. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Working...
