Well, this upgrade mess has actually helped me.

For my flight, it seems all the seat requests have been cancelled, leaving 11K wide open

Do airlines have to pay anything to SQ when its FFP members redeem a ticket on SQ or vice versa when we redeem a ticket through Krisflyer on a Star Alliance partner?

Apart from new booking reference, my assigned seats remained intact. e-ticket number still the same.

        From the FAQ
        http://singaporeair.com/pdf/media-ce...-customers.pdf

        4. Why does my booking reference number look different from the one I had
previously? Does this mean there have been changes to my booking?

This is the result of the transition to the new reservations system. No changes have been made to your booking and you will still be able to make use of your previous booking reference number provided you have not made any changes to your booking after the migration.

I had an upcoming flight on a SQ J flight on 77W, booked using BMI miles. I had selected seat 11A on the SQ web.

However, I am not able to access my booking anymore (using both the BMI Amadeus and SQ booking number).

checkmytrip.com still reflects 11A as my seat.

Should I be worried that seat selection is now gone?

Yes, airlines bill each other for all interline redemptions.

Went ahead to book through the website.
All was smooth till the payment page, keyed in the cc number, got the authorization code, clicked confirm and then ….. Maintenance page

Silly me…. to try booking online so soon after the migration.

My KF account is unable to pull all my bookings through the website.
I can only check using the mobile website. All the bookings are there with new reference numbers. They are messy though, some of the dates shown are dates upon issuance, while some others show currently-booked dates. One cancelled booking is shown. And each booking shows the past history of changes to the tickets. Seat selection with the exception of 1 ticket is still intact.

Calling the call centre now - 30 minutes on and still not through yet.

I've a booking for London to Perth via Singapore on economy in Nov. I have selected all my seats for the 4 flights.

However, after the system upgrade on 8-10 July, I've lost 3 of my 4 seat selections. My other bookings for other destinations in 2013 also suffered the same fate. It seems like the system upgrade is a big game of musical chairs!

While I have managed to secure the same or alternative seats for most flights, I have lost seat 48D on my SIN-LHR sector due on some inexplicable reason.

I spent nearly 1.5 hours today on 2 separate calls to Krisflyer. The answer I got (so far) was "A380 has been reconfigured such that seat 48D is now a Preferred Seat and that seat has been assigned to someone else".

However, Seat 48D is shown as "available" and not marked as a preferred seat when I logged in to manage my booking. I was also told that I cannot purchase any preferred seat for a day or two following the system change. So how on earth was my ("allegedly to be paid for" preferred) seat assigned to someone else?

This is very underhanded and incomprehensible.

Sure, if they want to change 48D to a preferred seat that has ALREADY been assigned, then they should at least tell me and give me to opportunity to perhaps keep that seat by paying for it.

In any case, I do not believe the agent who answered my call since I have managed to secured the same seat 48D for a flight in January 2013 and that hasn't been flagged as a preferred seat and not simply give it to someone else.

In any case, all the PNRs codes have been changed following the system upgrade such that the agent is unable to locate my booking until I logged in online to retrieve the new PNRs to the agent on the phone.

This is a badly managed data migration. SIA should have at least sent out notification to inform us about the possible impact of the change (such as change of PNR). Pretending that passengers will not notice is simply not good enough.

PS: incidentally, on another booking between LHR-SIN, I was bumped off my upper deck economy class seat selection because the plane was changed to the all business upper deck A380s. The change was done (prior to the system upgrade) without notification and I was left with no assigned seat.

Checking was as smooth as silk today. agent told me no major issue so far. But they can't see how long the flight now. So don't make their life's difficult by asking how long is the flights as they no longer have access to such info.

Got my seafood meal.tg rop is there.

                  So no complain so far.

Saw big crowd at transit point at T3.

                  Boarding my SQ878 now

SQ check in systems did not migrate over yet. Apparently that will take place in 6 months' time.

First the reservation systems, then the check in systems.

Some bookings work completely, some work in part (i.e. I can access them but any changes create a "500 internal server error"), and some cannot be accessed at all. Ironically enough, the one I need to access is the one that doesn't do anything. Clicking on the link makes the little wheel spin for a few seconds, and then...nothing.

Way to go SQ. I thought the United migration over to Continental was a mess, but frankly that was painless compared to this.

Well I did a check in CMT and my seats are still correctly assigned. Overall I think messed up seat reservations are SQ's smallest problem right now.

Just look at the flood of F & J bookings that happened over the weekend and on Mon from folks using UA MP miles and some US DM ones too. Tons of people booked F 2-3 seats on popular routes and while I understand SQ planned to make saver awards available to Starnet everyone seems to agree they didn't intend to be THAT generous.

Same here. I get some partial detail on my flight itinerary, but no ability to make changes. I called SQ customer services to make some seat changes. I asked if they could somehow update my record so that I could manage it online. No luck. They said to call them if I wanted to make changes, otherwise, I could use the checkin system to make changes within 48 hours. Looks like bookings on the cusp of the system conversion got screwed up a bit.

The website is definitely NOT working.

Tried to redeem a ticket online. Everything looked good until I wanted to process the booking and an error message popped up saying "Please select all segments for a give flight selection" which of course I did, and retried several times with the same result. Even the error message shown was grammatically incorrect.

I was hoping against hope they would get it right this time after the fiasco of the past year. Sigh ..... am still on hold with the call centre now.
