Excess Baggage charge:

A friend is flying from Japan via SIN to CMB (actually for a holiday ) in economy. He is star gold with TG, what kind of baggage allowance is he entitled too? From what I can decipher on the SQ web site he gets 2@20KG checked bags. Anyone here know the charge per KG. over that ?

Luggage allowance as a *G travelling on SQ Economy Class is 40kg total (regardless of # of pcs).
AFAIK, excess is charged at 1% highest one way Economy fare per kg.

Baggage Allowance

40kg for Y pax with *G status (20 kg allownace as Y pax, and additional 20 kg as *G). The excess charge as far as I know it's 1% of full Y fares per kg.
