  • best seat in economy class (boeing 777-300ER)

    Hi Everyone

I fly from Perth to Berlin through singapore airlines. I will take flight SQ325 (Boeing 777-300ER) to fly from singapore to berlin. Anyone can suggest the best seat in economy (good window view, less sound from engine and more leg space)

I like 43A if I want a window, last row in the front economy cabin and the only seat as a twosome rather than a threesome.

I have been looking into this as well. I was thinking maybe emex rows 31 and 44? particularly seats 31A/K and 44A/K as they are not preferred seats whilst the other seats in the row are.

Upside, a lot of leg room. Downside, no window..

Also on a side note, can anyone comment on whether or not the obstruction caused by the emex door is the same in both rows 31 and 44? Because I have seen in some pictures that the door is flatter and causes almost not impact on the amount of leg room and in other pictures the door appears to be fatter and comes out more.

I was wondering if the exit door is like the second picture in this thread:

...or if it is like the second picture in this thread:

I'd be more happy to see SQ return to Berlin some day. But I doubt that's even thought about. Right now they'll get you as far as Munich or Frankfurt, then it's Lufthansa for those last 50min.
Munich might be the better options these days with Frankfurt ground traffic controllers on strike. Solidary action by FRA tower stuff was just rejected by court today. But now local ground staff in Berlin announced spontanous strikes over the next days. Not the best time to travel...

Do those seats on 77W in front of toilets fully recline?
              I refer to:
              43 AC
              42 DEG
42 HJK.. limited recline according to SeatGuru
              56 AC
              56 JK

43AC most def, 56ACJK I think not but will happily be corrected.

In some ways, it's a bit pointless worrying about seat selection until internet check-in with Y these days.

So many seats are blocked out as occupied on the 77W that advance seat selection has become a farce.

Back last November, I booked flights for later this month. Three sectors are on the 77W and the same large sections of the plane were blocked out as occupied on every single flight. I've gone back every month to check if any of them had been unblocked, but nothing has changed.

With the low fares they are still offering, I'd be pretty amazed if the plane is 95% full as the seat maps are showing now. Maybe a large tour group is stalking me?

                  Anyone else had similar observations?

Yes! I'm heading to BOM tomorrow night on SQ424 and until OLCI the flight looked about 95% with all 3 in my travelling party in middle seats. Upon OLCI, the entire rear cabin Y only had 4 seats taken...

Glad to hear my suspicions are real.

Once OLCI opens for me, 51A is mine!

                        Why 51A?

I have exactly the same issue on SQ016 to Incheon in about 10-days. The only seat I was able to pick in Y was front row, emergency exit, non preferred. From the rest of Y, I think only 4-5 empty seats so OLCI will be done for sure this time.

It's a personal quirk. I like a window seat, as I rarely get up and move around. I sleep on my left shoulder, so an A seat gives me the wall I want to lean on. I sleep about 7 hours on a long-haul flight so this is pretty important.

Row 51 is just before the curve of the fuselage begins, so the seat is flush against the wall- it doesn't have a gap like the furthest rows back. It's far enough away from the bulkhead to avoid the horrors that can come from a bassinet and the talkative toilet-queues and galley noise.

51A has excellent views, unobstructed by the wings, and the back cabin is less popular than the front as a general rule, so there's much more chance of 51B being empty
