Can anyone point out what was wrong with the way this bunk had been arranged?
The view shown indicates that the pillow is placed at the foot of the bunk.
Note the curvature of the cabin wall. This bunk is port side facing forward.
This is bunk #3 on SQ's 747 megatop. Below it, is bunk #4. There are 8 bunks in total.
Not many people get to visit the bunks. Partly due to the narrow stairs and more importantly, only the cabin crew are trained to respond to abnormal situations while in that small area. If anything should happen during your visit up there, insurance will not cover. It is regarded as a restricted area.
Same goes for visiting galleys located below cabin floor levels.
Too bad the 747 is gone. It is a very stable aircraft in flight, take offs and landings.. even during typhoon signal 8 in HKG!
Enjoyed flying 747-200/300/400 and even the combi.. SP included.
Thanks too for Talkers' sharing of their clips & pics! appreciate them all.

We were told that the position of the pillow which would have indicated the rest position of the crew was wrong. The pillow should have been put on the other end and not at the position shown in the picture. The reason is because that is where the oxygen mask is located.
