So, after landing last night on my usual TG401, I decided to pop over to the celebrations at Gate B7 in T3 to take a look at the inaugural A380-800 departure on the SQ25/26 route.

Here are some Facebook-redownloaded/re-sized photos (higher-res originals are on my laptop at home, sorry) as boarding had already been well under way... although some pax were still going at the buffet for all it was worth.

Don't see any champagne but thanks for the pics though Kyo.

You're not wrong - I didn't spot anyone drinking out of champagne flutes either (when I first stumbled on the scene, the last of the R pax was boarding, so perhaps they had some out earlier? Not too sure).

There were drinks, a chef station etc, but didn't see any champers.

Opening up bottles for an entire 388 might fly in the face of cost-cutting measures, perhaps...
