  • This Month's Movies...

My trip to SIN on SQ37 is approaching fast ! I leaving LAX on the nonstop flight on the 23rd of April. Can some one provide me with the FULL list of movies available for this month ? I know there is a list available on www.singaporeair.com but not all movies are listed. I need the information so that I don't go and watch movies on my Inbound flight on Air France PPT-LAX that I can watch on SQ !

    Thanks for your help !

Manureva744, I don't have the list of all the movies playing this month but wanted to let you know that on SQ there are so many of them that it would almost be impossible to list them all here unless someone would take the programm guide from the aircraft. The SQ website shows the newly released ones. I am not sure which system the A340-500 is using you are going to be on. If it's same as the new 777-300ER you'll have over 100 movies + TV shows, Documentaries etc, but even if it's the same system all other flights are using you will stil have a choice of over 80+++.
I don't think you'll get bored at any time, besides that there are 100s of CD's to choose from.
I enjoyed the movies this month, on a more serious note there is "Blood Diamonds" which is a little intense at times but I thought it was very well done and was a good movie, of course that is all a matter of taste.
On the light note, there is "The Holiday" which is just enjoyable to watch.
There are others I really wanted to watch but just didn't have the time too because I needed some sleep.
I am sure you will just have a really wonderful time and enjoy the service.
Let us know how it went.

My problem is that I have to avoid watching the good movies.......

I need to "save" them so that I can truly enjoy these movies in my home theater....watching them on the flight doesn't seem to be so satisfying as watching it on a large screen.

I happened to chance on Casino Royale which browsing channels last flight 29 March SQ37 LAX-SIN (This one is still on this month's flights) and I watched how Bond took his poisoned drink to later come back to do that "all-in" poker round....Just before they reveal their cards, i just got to switch channels....

I watched the 3 chinese movies, Banquet, Wo Hu and the Fatal Contact. Jackie Chan's "Rob-B-Hood" is also available. Yes, I decided to catch "Bobby" as well ...quite shiok!

On this 16 hours flight, it is not likely you can watch movies back to back....max is only 5 movies. With 80 movies and the many TV shows available, it is impossible to run out unless you are travelling on an older aircraft. I do not believe Air France would have the same offering.

          Hey everyone !

Thanks for your help, I know that I will not be able to watch all the movies on my SQ flights seeing there are so many. It's just that I don't want to end up with nothing to watch on my AF flights as movies are generally the same with all airlines. I will stick with the french movies on AF ! I am sure the full selection won't be shown on SQ !
And just for your information, AF offers only 12 movies and only six movies are new each month. So it means that movies are played for 2 months and then change. Also from november AF will introduce 85 channels of video on all its long-haul flights.
It is a far cry from SQ's state of the art video program but it is going to become a better one !
