I have been offered a cheaper upgrade rate from Y to J when flying SIN to LHR once I was very tempted but couldnt justify hammering the credit card anymore that month. It was only just over 1k sing I seem to recall, I say only its still alot but a damm site cheaper than doing so on the website.

That was very good! last time I ask at the airport how much it would be to upgrade the person I was flying with from Y to J they said 5k+ (SIN to LHR on SQ) and look at me like it was a bargain of a life time. So that person stayed in Y class, luckly I was in R so couldn`t hear them moaning until the plane landed.
