              • OTB is still flying as 9V-SQB. For reasons unknown, it is still flying wif SQ. Scoot has taken over 9V-SQA and 9V-SQC thus it is 9V-OTA and 9V-OTC.

                      • I have to say I still remain somewhat baffled by all this Scoot business, but I am sure they have thought it through...

                        Anyone on the inaugural ?.

If you follow Scoot on Facebook, they've posted those pictures there for all to see.

The livery is actually pretty awesome. Other than the tail, where due to the curvature of the aircraft, looked more like "Soot".

                          Heh.

                          • 9V-OTA and OTC has been named as Barry and Goin' Scootin'.

                            • I just can't get into the way they are marketing it. Could they get any more 'tacky' at all? It's put me RIGHT off. Air Asia looks positively upper class in it's advertising in comparison to this.

Seriously? They called their first plane Barry???

Given it will be doing the majority of its flying to Australia for the first while at least, they could have checked with some Australians what they thought of the choice.

The name Barry is frequently the butt of jokes. It's a name that is unpopular these days to name boys with and usually given to large, bald, overweight boring men in comedy shows. I had a friend who named her cat Barry for the same kind of humorous effect. It's like they WANT us to see this new airline as a joke.

Ladies and gentlemen, we will shortly commence the boarding of Barry by row numbers...

                                Classic!

(Disclaimer: The above text is not necessarily reflective of the poster's views on everyone named Barry. Any offence caused to anyone actually named Barry is unintentional and sincere apologies are offered. Maybe.)
