  • 77W showing as 388 in "my bookings"

Just booked a MAN-SIN-SYD round trip on 777 equipment all the way (77W on man-sin legs, 773 on sin-syd-sin), as for ONCE, UK-SYD was a reasonable rate, & I wasnt forced onto TG !

BUT upon logging into "my bookings" on the website, SQ232 (syd-sin, 14-oct-11) is showing as A380 ?

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Trying to make a dummy booking shows this as a 773 ?

    Any ideas

    a) Which seats I should book on ALL 777 trips (havent used SQ 777 yet)
    b) Which metal Im likely to be on ???

    Thanks in advance !

    You are in luck.

From Expertflyer, from 7th Sep, SQ 212 will be 773 retrofit, SQ 232 will be A380 (all business class upper deck).

    SQ 221 / 232 - A380 (all upper deck business class)

    SQ 211 / 212 - 773 retro fit

SQ 231 / 222- A380 (with upper deck business & economy class - no change)

    SQ 241 / 242 - 772ER (no change)

      So seating advice then... ;-)

Given that this is now the case, would 11a/k be the usual reccomendations for 77W ???

388 i can do myself having done it a few times now !

Strange. SQ232 Shows as A8E (UD full J) for certain days and 380 for others.

Yep, best seats in the house. Best J seats in the fleet, actually.

            Managed to snag 11K on OB 77W, 16K on 773 (no 11, just a 12 !), 11K on 380.

BUT lastly, on 77W homeward bound, 11a/k Gone. have got 17K for now, but would i be better in 19-21A ?

            Any opinions gratefully recieved..

I'm sure you might have considered it but row 11 on the A380 is generally considered an "avoid" as the seats are considerably narrower than the other seats. Personal favourites are the rows 14-15 and 17 a/k.

Inthe 77W - If you can't get in the front cabin any seat in the aft cabin is fine (to my mind) although the nearer you get to the wing the more likely the engine noise might bother you (it bothers me slightly). Wing starts from 18 thereabouts. But it could just be me.

As kelvgoh says, 11A/K on 388 are considered bad seats as the aircraft goes narrow there and those seats have no windows either. 17A/K are the best on the 380 imo, although you can be disturbed by noise from the galley nearby on overnight flights. For day flights it's good fun watching and listening to the crew in action.

Alternatively if you are on one of the new all J upper deck 380's then you could try the new single row at the back, row 96.

On the 77W if the mini cabin has gone then 14A/K are bulkhead window seats and are good seats, but again you have the galley nearby just like 17A/K on the 380.

                    Finally Sorted

Many thanks everyone, I managed to sort seating out as follows

                    MAN - SIN (77W) : 11K (Yay!)
                    SIN _ SYD (773, refitted) : 16K
                    SYD-SIN (388) : 15K
SIN- MAN (77W) : 17K (decided against 11F as doesnt have any storage !)

I will try my best to do a TR on this one, and I'll even do it here rather than on TOF :-)

You use the same overhead storage bins as 11K.

But no "seat side" storage for camera, Ipod, book, newspaper and all the other detritus I always seem to end up carrying with me :-)

but ffr, thanks for pointing out...

Would you take mini cabin over a hole alongside you to put your "stuff" in ?

Any one had any idea how's the load for SQ231, especially when it is now operated by A380? Also, wat about the return flight from SYD?

                              Thks.
