  • Singapore to Munich - Chance of Equipment Swap?

Okay I need to fly to Munich later this year from Singapore.

Is the 77W staying on this route to the best of people knowledge ?
Was it the 744 before this ?

Can any of the non 77W's fly this route or is it too long ?

Will be flying in J so don't want a swap to an old 777

The only possible swap is to the 744, which to my best of knowlage, do not have the hours to operate this long route

Haven't heard anything, but with SQ you never know!

I never thought they would pull the 77W from MEL so fast and replace with a possibly refurbished 777....

Like most people I don't feel like spending $$$ and end up with an inferior product

Well MUC has only ever had a 77W so it's highly unlikely to get swapped.

The Aussies, well MEL & SYD, have been copping it from a great height with equipment swaps recently, so if I was flying to those two destinations then I might expect it.

On SQ328 a few months ago the cabin filled full of smoke. They returned to Changi and got on another 77W. For this route they are likely to keep the same aircraft but 'steal' the 77W from a shorter haul route.

No, the (non-derated) 777-200ERs can easily fly SIN-MUC.

I assume that means that the 744's are already fully utilized....

What flew SIN-MUC route before the 77W ?

SQ's JumboJets have a low utilization rate. There is generally at least one available at SIN for substitutions.

Nothing. SIN-MUC is a new route.
