  • Flying with SQ MAN-BNE - a little advice needed for a new SQtalk user

    Hiya guys,

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I couldnt realy see any threads. I need a little advice and would appreciate it loads if any one has any for me. Im looking to go to Brisbane in May/June this year. I have 2 options, from London or from Manchester.

Manchester is my home town but i dont mind taveling down to London either to travel on the A380 if thats going to be the better flight.

Im traveling with my boyfriened and i realy want to get a 2 seat row togther. How far in advance would i have to buy the tickets online for the London trip, if i wanted to sit upstairs ecconomy?

Could anyone advise me on which would be a more comftable flight, less busy and where we could both sit together. I have looked on seat guru etc but i would like to hear of any experiencs fom people that have taken both flights in ecconomy.

    Welcome to SQTalk Chezzy

If you want a 2 seater by the window, only A380 Upper Deck offers this.

I would book ASAP to ensure an Upper Deck 2 seater

    Enjoy your flight

I have gone from Manchester to Brisbane a good few times now. The 777-300ER is a good aircraft, but the stop in Munich is abit of a pain. As 9V-SIA says, if you want 2 sat together the A380 is the way to go.

          Welcome to SQTalk Chezzy

          Isn't travelling MAN-LHR-SIN-BNE no different from MAN-MUC-SIN-BNE?
Surely MUC is less of a pain than LHR....no?

The 77W from MAN also has a few 2-seaters by the window...

Also, consider there are 193pax less on the 77W so you spend less time waiting to board/de-plane and wait for luggage....

Mid-week flights are generally less full

            Exactly.

Why anyone would recommend a MAN based pax to go through LHR - and a terminal change on a bus - over the the stop in a place like MUC, where you can stay on board now on the return, is a little strange. The MAN-MUC-MAN legs are quite enjoyable as well as they are less than half full.

I would avoid 2 seater on 77W though. Limited recline

I've always had great long-haul flights on a 77W, really nice planes. Now that they fly daily out of MAN instead of only a few times a week on a 772, I'd definitely opt for the flight from MAN. Sure the A380 is also a nice aircraft, but you have to get to LHR early enough to connect with it or check in for it. I'd have thought avoiding LHR and flying by 77W would be just perfect.
