Nice enough, but not worth arriving early deliberately.

LHR T1 now has a slightly unusual arrangement - all pax (domestic or international) enter a common airside area after security. However, domestic (which includes Belfast) pax have to leave the area via a corridor down to the left, where your ticket/photo is re-checked... and this takes you into a smaller domestic area, with very little in the way of shops/coffee etc. And you can't go back.
This domestic area is where the BMI domestic lounge sits, so once you are here, you may as well do into the lounge, and wait for your flight to be called. Alternatively, there are big windows with nice view of 09L/27R further down the concourse.

Lounge itself is one floor - lots of seating (though at peak business traveller times it gets quite busy). Food is limited to cheese/crisps/cake/pretzels and drink to the usual suspects, including (cheap) wine. Few TVs and magazines etc. Six computers with internet; no printing.

An alternative lounge choice for *G, if you want more food choice, is to venture in the completely different direction in the main airside area, to find the *A lounge down the right. It's sometimes quite busy, and the desk clerk will try and direct you back to the BMI domestic lounge.. but as a *G holder on same day flight, you are of course entitled to entry. Food choices are better, but I find the lounge a bit dingy and smelly (!) so tend to avoid.

Can't agree more. Cake in a packet, like lemon drizzle. Walker's crisps and cookies. Pepsi and Welsh spring water.
In the morning, you get croissants.
