CO shareholders approve merger with UAL corp.

NEW YORK -- Continental Airlines said Friday its shareholders
voted "overwhelmingly" in favor of a $3 billion merger agreement with United Airlines parent UAL Corp. At a special meeting in Houston, more than 98% of the shares outstanding were voted in favor of the transaction, the company said.

Just seen a few of the aircraft in the new livery (UA titles, CO colours) here at IAH, on narrow and widebodies. You do have to do a double take at first!.

There hasn't been any mention of fleet integration when it comes to the interiors, have there? That seems like that's gonna be a mess for a while.

                  3. AA (which absorbed TWA earlier in 2001)

                  4. US (which absorbed HP in 2005)
May be soon US will be absorbed into AA?

Just curious, is this the reason why CO left the Sky Team or it is just a coincidence?

Part of the reason CO left was the merger of DL and NW. Before the alliance had basically three equal partners, but the merger (according to Larry Kellner) would have made CO a second-rate partner in SkyTeam.
