Can one buy top up points to get a LH flight??

Hello all, sorry if this has been covered but I could not find it here on SQTalk or on SIA website.

My question is, can you buy top up points for a LH flight (star alliance)?
I want to redeem points for 2 business return tickets and have over 50% of points required so would like to top up my points and get both... I've topped up points to redeem SIA flights but not yet tried for a star alliance carrier.

Any help or direction on the subject is most welcome

Star Alliance does have an upgrade program which can be used to buy upgrades on other members. I am not sure exactly how it works and you might have to contact your member airline.

I can see that I can use my points to get upgrades on Lufthansa. I've also emailed SIA to see if they will do top ups when the redemption is not a SIA flight.
