At the moment, if you log onto the ANA Tool to check for Star availability, you will see the two partner airline options greyed out with a notice on top saying
"Partner airlines award system is currently unavailable.
Please try again later. We apologize for inconvenience this has caused."
However, this does not mean that you have to give up!
How to use the search still, for Star flights:
1. Choose search ANA Flights (blue button)
2. Insert any city pair operated by ANA (e.g. LHR-NRT)
3. On the availability screen, you will see "Use Star Alliance Airlines"
4. You will then find the familiar search screen for Star availability screen as usual
Not sure about the reason for the problem, since the system is clearly working, but I thought it would be helpful for anyone desperately needing to check availability.
