Do that in Malaysia with 1-300-88-3000, wait 1/2 an hour for someone to pick up, and they'll then ask you what an award is.

                    They have now...

                    http://konzern.lufthansa.com/en/html...10/972/HOM&s=0

Lufthansa takes over bmi shares from SAS
Lufthansa-related UK holding company will hold 100 per cent in bmi 01.10.09

With effect from 1 November 2009, Lufthansa-related UK holding company LHBD Holding Limited (LHBD) will take over a further 20 per cent stake in British Midland PLC (bmi). These shares are currently held by the SAS Group (SAS). Consequently LHBD will hold 100 per cent in bmi. Under the terms of the agreement LHBD will acquire the 20 per cent stake for approximately GBP 19 million. Furthermore Lufthansa will pay SAS another GBP 19 million for the cancellation of its rights resulting from the shareholder agreement dated 1999. Should Lufthansa decide, on the background of its strategic analysis, to sell bmi completely or parts of the company SAS will under certain conditions receive an additional payment, within the next two years.

LHBD is a UK-based company, in which Lufthansa holds a 35 per cent stake. After obtaining the necessary traffic rights, Lufthansa expects to be able to acquire 100 per cent of LHBD.

                      • I flew BMI on Tuesday for the first time in many years and they had an announcement about Dimond Club and siad it ws officially the UK's most generous FFP. I couldn't help think to myself, yes but for how long is that going to last.

                          • I wonder if Lufthansa will now rebrand BMI as "Lufthansa UK" following their "Lufthansa Italia" venture in Italy...

                            • 9W CEO to become BD CEO

                              http://www.flightglobal.com/articles...w-bmi-ceo.html

The new CEO of BMI is to be Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, currently CEO of India's Jet Airways, the UK airline has announced. He replaces Nigel Turner, who will become deputy chairman.

Prock-Schauer's appointment - he becomes deputy CEO on 1 November before succeeding Turner on 1 December - follows Lufthansa's takeover of the UK carrier earlier this year.

The new CEO "will drive forward the turnaround of BMI", says Stefan Lauer, BMI's chairman. "We are delighted to have gained Wolfgang Prock-Schauer as precisely the right person for that challenge. We are installing a proven aviation expert with international experience. Latterly at Jet Airways, he has shown how a company can be successfully positioned and operate in a challenging environment marked by strong competition."

Turner adds: "I have known Wolfgang for some years; he is well-respected in the industry and is a true professional. For me it is time to move on and I am happy that Lufthansa has given me a challenging role whilst at the same time accommodating my personal requirements."

Prock-Schauer, an Austrian, began his career at Austrian Airlines (AUA) in 1981 and was one of the senior team responsible for the integration of Lauda Air into AUA. Following several senior executive positions at AUA, he became CEO of Jet Airways in June 2003. During his period in charge, Jet has expanded rapidly from being a purely domestic Indian carrier into worldwide operations.
