  • Anyone flown domestic from ICN on OZ after arriving from outside Korea ?

I am booked to arrive at ICN from LHR (...) and then have over 3 hours before my flight to PUS. I could shuttle over to GMP and get to Busan an hour earlier but I'm arriving later in the day so I won't be doing much that evening anyway.

I have flow from GMP to various places in Korea but I have always done this after being in Seoul, never straight from an international flight. The main thing that concerns me is there are very few domestic flights from ICN (just two a day to PUS rather annoyingly) so I don't want to get forced into some poxy waiting area unable to do anything.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone with any experience of this. I could have routed via TG BKK but the additional flying time and then 5 hours on one of their dreaded AB6's meant I had to take the lesser of two evils and face a transit at LHR.

    OT:

The closest I can recommend is on direct one plane LH flight from MUC - PUS.

Yep and that would have been double handy but it only runs three times a week and the gap in the middle is just bad timing for me for when I need to be there and when I can leave.

At least it gives me a chance to try OZ long haul in J. I am also flying them ICN-SGN as well but this time it involves a GMP-ICN shuffle as there is only one flight a day from PUS-ICN.

Busan is a real PITA to get too for such a major city.

Take the hydrofoil across the strait and we could have dinner!

If it helps, many years ago I went on holiday to Korea. I flew OZ352 overnight from SIN to ICN, then immediately boarded a domestic flight to Cheju. Yes, the tranfer time was just 1 or 2 hours, and I had no access to lounge, nothing. And we set off to see the sights right after touchdown in Cheju. Yes, I was in a packaged tour. No one in the right mind would do this sort of thing.

Just take AREX to GMP and go to Busan to save some time. I hate waiting in the airport.

My suggestion is not to go to Kimpo or Gimpo (some time pronounce) due to traffic congestion in Seoul. Further more, you will need to pick up your baggage and re check in. in the domestic section at exit number 01.

Thank you for the suggestion but I'm afraid I am in Busan for under 48 hours and have my work cut out getting everything done as it is. As well as being a pain to get too, it's also a PITA to get around.

Thanks for the advice. I've decided to stick with with just getting the flights from ICN. I quite like ICN and am not struck on GMP so will stick with the ICN flight and just see how it goes.
