Shenzhen Airlines joins Star Alliance

I'm always happy for more connections in China, gives me more opportunities to explore the place.

Oh, and Xiamen Airlines goes to ScaryTeam...

From Singapore, Shenzhen Airlines has an excellent schedule for a daytrip to Shenzhen for an afternoon meeting. Almost booked it last week, but meeting got rescheduled to the morning and had to do an overnighter via HK.

Similarly, China Southern has an excellent schedule for a daytrip with afternoon meeting in Guangzhou. Did that 3 weeks ago. Flew J class. Service etc on par with domestic US flights. Can't really complain given SQ's horrible return flight timings.

And honestly even Xiamen Airlines is not a bad choice if flying to Xiamen. The alternative is Silk Air, which, hardware wise, is not much better. Did the 5-hr flight back from Wuhan last week on Silk Air.....painful without IFE.
