Ironically bmi regional, that rose from the demise of the fabulous BD, has announced it is to start flying from MAN again.

I know, there will never be another DC.

I also miss BD themselves, especially their long haul services from MAN.

    Now it really is over...

    Dear MAN Flyer,

We are sorry to inform you that the Diamond Club will be closing on 30 November 2016.

Please be assured that up until this date, you can still use your 10% discount on British Airways flights.

If you have a Diamond Club Credit Card issued by MBNA Limited, you will no longer be able to collect Destinations miles from 30 September 2016, however you will be able to convert them in to Avios using the Combine My Avios tool when you log in to your Executive Club account. You will need to do this by 30 November 2016, otherwise your miles will not be transferred and will expire.

If you have any further queries, please contact us.

    Yours sincerely,

    The Diamond Club

As stated above, I still get 2.5 per GBP, which is pretty good. I keep forgetting about the 10% BA discount, not that I use it much anyway....

We still get ten percent discount on BA flights and 2.5 Avios per GBP spent on the card.

For those people lucky enough to still have the old bmi British Midland credit cards issued by MBNA, some unwelcome news dropped through the letterbox yesterday.

Not for everyone, just for some.

There are, unbelievably, SEVEN different bmi credit card packages out there. Whilst everyone is losing the benefit of double miles for spending with British Airways, not everyone is having their miles cut.

Shame. Those BD TATL flights to and from MAN (especially ORD) were fantastic, and had without doubt the best catering I have ever had on any airline in any class, even to this day.

I was responding to SQflyergirl in relation to TA, whose call centre I thought you were referring to was in the States. So, you and I weren't referring to the same thing. Either way, BA or TA, there's no relation to BMI's demise and the thread's gone off-topic.

Re-reading the thread, you were the only person to bring them up. We've all been discussing BA.
