CX to resume SIN-CGK Service

Cathay Pacific is re-entering Singapore – Jakarta market after several years of hiatus, with 3 weekly service on board Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Service operates from 28MAR11 to 12AUG11 only. During this period CX’s overall frequencies increase from 21 to 24 weekly.

Currently, Singapore – Jakarta market sees up to 33-35 Daily flights by 11 carriers.

The old flight timings were perfect for a day trip to SIN (from Jakarta).

I can see how this itinerary can work for some people. I am just happy there is now a non LCC option to fly to CGK from SIN with a different timing option.

Work until very late in SIN. Back home to CGK for some ... And then back in the office bright and fresh the next morning!

Oooh, this is quite suitable for a weekend trip to CGK for me, despite the OMG o'clock timings.

Too bad it's on an alliance I hardly pay attention to.

Good move by CX! Instead of leaving the arriving aircraft (CX715) over night. CX decided to fly it to CGK and earn money by the time it's back in Singapore. It will be ready to depart back to HKG.

CGK is after all the most popular destination out of SIN and has been so for the last 2 years so who knows. I am sure CX has done its homework.

By the way, CGK seems to become popular ex-HKG as well lately with CX now flying this route 3x daily non-stop. Not long ago, it was only 10 weekly and then 14 weekly with the morning flight having a stopover in SIN.
