CX Flight LAX- Jakarta 20,000 Usd Crazy!!

I was planning to use my CX miles to fly from LAX-CGK but it was avaliable so i decided i just pay for it and they quoted me 20,000 Usd round trip first class.

I won't make it in time. Last flight out of lax by sq is 9pm direct. And I have to be in indonesia by 2nd october for a wedding. So only late night flight avaliable would be CX.

I'm not terribly surprised. LAX-HKG in CX F ranges from a little over $6K to a little over $10K each way.
