  • MAN-DXB A380 Service

    Reports this morning state that a daily service from MAN-DXB will start from September.
    No airline was mentioned, but safe to assume it's EK?
    Course, my cursory attempts to book a flight in October , MAN-DXB with a couple of online agents only shows 773's........
    Any idea at what point the big bird will start to appear?
    If God had really intended men to fly, he'd make it easier to get to the airport.

    Yes, Emirates is the one. It will be launched from Sep onwards.

    Refer to Manchester Evening News online.

      Thanks for the link to the local rag. I was listening to the local radio about 7am, and they gave no details.
      Interestingly, the A380 service has now appeared as an option on the Emirates online system........
      Must resist picking out the credit card......

        According to the article, it seems that EK will use the Higher density A380 (517 Seats, maybe 2-class only) rather than the 3-Class (489 Seats) now in their fleet.

          But it also says;

          "It will also introduce the carrier’s first-class cabin – which includes another world first – on-board shower spas."

          And if you look on the emirates site then they have a 3 class A380 with 517 seats. So I assume less business seats.

            Yes, you are right, it is three-class A380. Amazing that it will have 400+ Economy seats!!

              The 517 seater is just the 489 seater minus the crew rest hence the increase in seat count.
