AN American Airlines plane has skidded off the runway and broken in two after landing in Kingston, Jamaica.
Forty people were injured in the accident which occurred at 10pm local time (2pm AEDT), Jamaican Information Minister Daryl Vaz told the Jamaica Observer newspaper.
Passengers at Norman Manley International Airport told the paper that flight 331 had just arrived from Miami in heavy rain when the crash occurred. The flight apparently originated in Washington.
