How to spend 25000 Avios on BA and get 50000 in return

1 - Book long haul JCL flight on BA
2 - Use 25,000 Avios to upgrade to (what passes as) F (on BA)
3 - Board aircraft to find it's the old F cabin, which is disgraceful to put it mildly...
4 - As BA are thankfully aware of this they offer compensation to everyone in 'F' of 50,000 Avios ofra £ 250 gift voucher of some sort.

Being the points and miles tart that I am I took the 50K Avios, thus making a profit of 25,000 Avios. But as I am sat on over 1.8 million Avios I may take the voucher next time.

Nah, I'd stick with the miles. You and I are in very similar boats, but can make those 25,000 Avios into much more than £250.
