What are your comments of Cathay Pacific Airways?

I fail to see how you term CX is 'an expensive airline'.

CX is HKG's home based airline. They will always mostly be more expensive than anyone else flying from HKG. But from everywhere else, CX is one of the more competitive airlines. CX always has great fares from TPE, BKK, KUL .. in fact everywhere except its home base.

The same goes for SQ and SIN. From SIN, they are the most expensive and inflexible airline because they are home based. For many travellers who are government employees or have government contracts, they are urged to fly on SQ only. It has nothing to do with flying the national carrier thought many people has been ingrained that SQ is the best there is.

The truth is that there are many good carriers out there - including CX that can compete and beat SQ in many areas.

the same goes for us. We can compete and beat CX in many areas as well. I think that the airline industry is a Dog eat Dog world. CX and SQ can only strive to be the best that they can be, and to offer service of the higest level. How about CX AND SQ being ASIA'S best airline rather then the worlds?

You guys are quibbling over IMHO, two of the finest airlines in the world. More than happy to ride either one. I actually think they spur each other on.......

I ask you to ponder this: Would SQ be as good as it is today, if CX did not exist?

CX is a very good airline? Yes,if the other competitors are Iran Air, Air Koryo, Air Kryzakstan and Air Afganistan.I agree what the first message written by "Singapore Airlines" said. I am a HongKonger, and I've traveled with CX for many times, but in gereral, none of a times I am fulfilled with its "Distinctive" service. I don't think it is worth to be a 5-star airline, I don't know what's skytrax's evaluation standard, such a rubbish airline can be treated as the world's best. My 5 favourite airlines in order of preference are:
1)Singapore Airlines
2)China Airlines(ROC)
3)Eva Airways
4)Lufthansa
5)Finnair

P.S. I hope SIA can take over CX and get back the world best airline award to show everyone in the world what is a real best airline.

Your apparent love of SQ/CI and dislike of CX are well documented already, and this in only seven hard to read, unparagraphed posts. I think we get your point.

Do you have anything on different topics to report so that we may share in your experiences, which I'm sure would be quite good reading after "many many many many many" times flying?
