The company said it conducted the same examination when picking stewardesses in all countries, including Japan and Australia.

Oh well then, that makes it perfectly acceptable!

Korean Cabin Crew Applicants: Untrue Reports in Korean Media

On August 24, 2011, several Korean media interviewed 10 Korean cabin crew applicants after they had completed the final stage of the Garuda cabin crew selection process, conducted at the Garuda office in Seoul, Korea.

According to Chosun.com, one of the online media belonging to the "Chosun Co" group, the largest and most influential media in Korea, one of the applicants said, "We feel really embarrassed about this article which isn’t true."

"We are not fools. If the doctors really touched our breast, don’t you think all 27 ladies would have done something about it? All the applicants that underwent the physical check-up were told to keep their bras on and wear an examination gown, and during that time, doctors only examined their chest.

Earlier media reports mentioned that doctors conducting the physical examinations of Korean cabin crew applicants behaved in an improper manner during the physical check-up.

As we have previously informed, Garuda Indonesia has denied any allegations and declared the reports and incident as totally untrue. Korean flight attendants applying to become Garuda Indonesia’s cabin crew are required to follow a physical examination conducted by doctors who perform according to the standards of their profession and are bound by the Hippocratic Oath. In addition, during the entire examination, the doctors were accompanied by a female local staff and a Korean citizen to assist in providing the necessary explanations regarding the physical and health examinations.

On 27 July 2011, Garuda Indonesia carried out a selection process of 27 cabin crew candidates of which five failed the tests and will not continue to the next selection stage.
