At least you got a replacement flight. But oh is it tough if you miss your flight on a restricted ticket, that's definitely got to hurt. And that was just KUL-SIN. It would much tougher long-haul and with SQ having "strictly" non-refundable USD1,000+ fares.
It almost happened to me on AK, not realising that someone who has performed OLCI and has a printed bp still has to proceed to a special check-in counter whether they have check-in luggage or not to have them validated. It's such a joke when the staff just stamped the bp without actually reading the details in it. In any case, SilverKris, you're right: read the fine print (or important details) of the BP before getting too excited.
