Gdansk to Munich With LOT

Probably not many taken this flight, a short hop of about 1 hour 45 minutes,... I was on way to Munich to catch the SQ flight to SIN and since not much have been reported here, I thought I might as well do it... the plane that will take me to Munich is an Embraer EMB145... take off time is 0900 hours and I was in the airport bright and early at 0700 hours...

Gdansk aiport is a smallish airport, not much to shout about, but its at least modern...


and of course it must be named after the country's hero, who started the revolution and threw out the commies...


that about all there is landside of the airport...

When I arrived, they were still checking in the earlier flight to Frankfurt and so I waited by spending time having a coffee and a sandwich....

the line for the Y check in is long.... so FF with *G can go to the business counter... no one...


after checking in, security was a breeze, and here is air side of the airport... that's it....

Only one lounge, .....


Once passed through the doors, you are met with the bar...


Simple lounge, where you have seats and also a fridge with the drinks...



Brewed coffee is available too...

they have also on displayed the various awards given to their hero from various overseas institution...

Time to board the plane, no walking on tarmac to plane, but will be bussed ...

Hand carry is best sent into the hold for retrieve later on landing at plane side..

No hot towels served after take off, but a towelette...

At least some food is served.... nothing fancy, a sandwich, juice and coffee... (or tea if thats your preference)


For entertainment, you have the in-flight magazine...

If bored, then stare out of the window and take pictures of the country side below...

That morning's flight was nothing out of the ordinary, arrived safely into Munich and long taxi to a parking bay,

Nice one! Only ever done EUROLot (K2) on an ATR-72 Turboprop to Wrocław (FRA to WRO) but have always wanted to go to Gdansk. Have to say I am not a fan of these regional jets at all!

off the plane and into a bus to the terminal....


that was the beginning of a long long journey to from Gdansk to Munich to Ulsan, Korea via Singapore....
