My virgin SQ talk post! After reading all the mouthwatering trip reports, I thought I'd post a much delayed first trip report.( more than 9 months after the trip heehe)
Since it was my birthday and i was flying solo, I decided to treat myself to my first "C" experience! ( no thanks to the SQtalk trip report section, which has thoroughly spoilt me with its many photos of SQ C)
Since I'd purchsed flexi fare econ, it was a snap to upgrade the outgoing sector online. However, it was only nailbitingly close to my departure date ( and a few calls to the SQ hotline) before i managed to confirm my return flight upgrade! yipee!
I was really excited in the lead up to the trip, and finally, departure date was here!
Date: 19 Oct 09
Flight: SQ 269 (A330-300)
Seat: 11D
Check in was a breeze, and after saying goodbye to a friend, I headed to the SQ silverkris lounge. It was jam packed!!
Lounge food wasn't very appetising, and mostly asian. I was impressed by the large selection of TWG teas though.

(note: above photos show the lounge misleadingly empty as I tried to be as discreet as possible when i took the pics. hehe)
Was rather glad to leave the overcrowded lounge.time for boarding!
Was one of the first to board, and ta daa! there was my seat at 11D. I didn't manage to have a good look at the (then) new regional C seats, but the width was really impressive.I was also glad for the extra roominess of the first row.

settling in for a glass of champagne predeparture, whilst the rest of C and Y trickled in *guilty look*

IFE! really nice large screens!

obligatory leg room shot *ahem*
Offers to top up the champagne were of course accepted ( who could say no to that?) as i settled in for the flight.
A middle aged lady ( businesswoman) was sitting in the seat next to me, and she raised the privacy divider as she read through some powerpoint presentation handouts.
THE FOOD!
having heard sooo much about the BTC lobster, there was no way I was going to miss out on that! However, i was a little apprehensive as I had read about how small some of the lobsters could be .

Thankfully, I wasn't dissapointed!
It was huge! and the saffron flavoured rice was delicious! My only compliant was that the asparagus was rather overcooked. But that was probably due to the reheading.

Next up was tea! Here is a shot of the TWG tea selection

and i chose the breakfast earl gray. Which strangely came in a large mug. And i also had to ask for sugar to go with it.

After which, I spent the rest of the flight in a champage/food induced coma....
WIll psot more pics of the seats in my next post on the return flight. Comments for improvements will be much appreciated.
